How Xperts Scaled Client Delivery with a Senior Django Developer from Index.dev

Xperts acquired part of Crowdbotics and inherited both its active projects and the senior Django developer who had been leading backend application development across them. Instead of starting from scratch, they kept him on through Index.dev.

The Xperts × Index.dev collaboration is a continuation of a long-standing engagement that began with Crowdbotics. Crowdbotics hired backend application developer Sallar R. through Index.dev, and he quickly became a standout contributor to their engineering team. His deep Python and Django expertise, strong backend fundamentals, and proactive approach earned high praise from both the internal team and end clients.

When Xperts acquired part of Crowdbotics in 2025, they inherited active projects along with Sallar, who had already proven himself as a trusted, high-performing engineer. Recognizing his impact, Xperts officially signed with Index.dev in July 2025 to continue the collaboration. Today, Sallar is a core remote team member at Xperts, contributing to application-level backend architecture, REST API development, and scalable backend services, while maintaining the same high standards that made him indispensable at Crowdbotics.

Specialization: Software Development
Headquarters: Richmond, Virginia, United States
Market: United States
Technologies & Tech Stack: Python, Django, REST API, Git, PostgreSQL, Redis, React

Project

Xperts is a software development company that helps organizations design, build, and scale production-ready software. Their work spans web and mobile applications, AI integrations, and cloud architecture. They rely on experienced engineers and agile teams to deliver expert-led solutions without the overhead of traditional agencies.

Their core expertise includes:

  • Custom web and mobile app development (React, React Native, Next.js)
  • AI and automation (OpenAI, GPT, ML integrations)
  • Cloud architecture and DevOps (Azure, AWS, CI/CD)
  • Product modernization and refactoring
  • UX/UI design and front-end engineering

Challenge

Xperts faced a dual challenge.

First, they needed continuity and stability after acquiring part of Crowdbotics. Projects were already underway, and bringing in someone who could step into active initiatives without disruption was critical.

Second, sourcing a senior backend developer with deep Python and Django expertise, startup experience, remote flexibility, and North American availability is rare.

They needed someone who could scale up hours during crunch periods, contribute to backend application architecture and API design decisions, and maintain high code quality without constant oversight. When client delivery is on the line, experimenting with unproven contractors is not an option.

Sallar’s prior experience with Crowdbotics made him the clear fit. He already knew the systems, understood the standards, and could continue delivering. This allowed Xperts to move fast, maintain quality, and avoid the typical delays and risks that come with hiring for critical roles.

Solution

Index.dev had already placed Sallar R., a senior Django developer based in Canada, with Crowdbotics in September 2021. Over the following year, he became indispensable to the team. When Xperts acquired part of Crowdbotics in July 2025, continuing the collaboration was obvious.

Sallar brings over a decade of experience in Python and Django. His expertise spans REST API development for iOS, Android, and web applications, application-level PostgreSQL optimization, Redis caching, and React integration.. His ability to anticipate issues, propose improvements, and mentor other engineers quickly positioned him as a core team member, even while working remotely.

“Sallar is a core member of our team,” said Chris King, VP of Delivery. “Even though he’s remote, he carries the weight and responsibility of an in-house lead.”

Communication runs smoothly through Slack. Sallar is involved in backend technical decisions, contributes to application architecture discussions, and scales his hours when timelines tighten. “He’s thinking ahead before problems become blockers. That’s the difference between a contractor and someone who’s genuinely invested in the outcome,” Chris added.

Index.dev also supported Xperts with flexibility, accommodating budget considerations during financial challenges on an end-client project, while maintaining clear, real-time communication throughout the engagement.

Impact

  • Start Date: September 2021 (Crowdbotics) → July 2025 (Xperts)
  • Engineers Placed: 1 senior Django developer
  • Location: USA
  • Status: Active and ongoing

Sallar’s contributions had a tangible, measurable effect on Xperts’ operations and project outcomes:

  • Exceptional deliverables:
    • Sallar consistently demonstrates a “whatever it takes” work ethic, scaling his hours when needed to meet critical project milestones.

  • End-client trust:
    • Xperts’ end clients have highlighted the quality of the backend infrastructure, resulting in higher retention and more project referrals.

  • Operational speed:
    • Retaining a proven developer allowed Xperts to bypass hiring delays, onboarding risks, and the time spent vetting new talent.

Beyond individual projects, Sallar's broad experience across backend architecture, API development, and emerging technologies like AI workflows means he can contribute strategically, not just tactically. This consultative approach helps Xperts deliver the kind of expert-led engineering their clients expect.
